Triumph dealer maryland

You know you want to buy a motorcycle, know which one you want, and know what you want to pay for it. The trouble is that the motorcycle dealership isn’t exactly offering the price you think you should pay.

No worries. With some careful negotiation, you can cut that price down to size. Here are a few tips to help.

Get Pre-Approved For a Loan.

Before you even think about strolling through a motorcycle dealership, go to your bank and ask to get pre-approved for financing. Many motorcycle dealers get kickbacks from financing companies or banks for sending them contracts. Plus, your bank or other financing company will probably give you a better interest rate than the motorcycle dealer would.

Look Up Rebate Information.

Go to the manufacturer’s website and check to see if the company is offering rebates. Oftentimes, sales people will withhold rebate info, only to bust it out at the last minute to make it look like they’re cutting you a better deal, when you were entitled to that discount the entire time. For example, if you were interested in Victory bikes, go to the Victory website and look up any and all rebate info you can find before you even find a Triumph Victory motorcycle dealer.

Time It Right.

Go to the motorcycle dealer at the end of the month, because you’ll have a couple things working in your favor then. First of all, most salespeople have a monthly quota that they have to hit, and your deal might be the one that helps them get there, which obviously puts you in a better position. Secondly, many motorcycle dealers offer their sales team incentives if they can make X amount of sales. Again, your deal might be the one that helps them get a bonus.

Armed with these tips, you should have an easier time getting the price you want. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. Good references here.
