Summer is nearly over, and now is as good a time as any to buy a boat. You’ve been invited on your friend’s boats all summer for parties, water sports, and sailing. You spend your days with them laughing in the sun, playing in the water, and having a cold one on the boat. When you go back to the dock you’re the only one in the marina without a boat, but it isn’t too late. You can still buy a boat and enjoy the last half of summer (and probably get a good price on the near end of season boating accessories).
When you do finally buy your boat one of the first things you’re going to have to worry about — aside from who you’re going to invite on it first — is how you’re actually going to get the boat. Unless you happened to buy it in the water, in your local marina, and at your dock, you’re going to have to find a way to get that boat where you need it, and unless it’s already in the water boat moving can seem to be pretty much impossible.
Car shipping companies can actually take care of your boat transport needs. The cost of boat shipping is going to depend on the weight of the boat and how far you need it shipped. Boat transport companies have a few different options for the actual shipping process — they can tow it behind another vehicle, or it can be placed on a rack on another truck. You can insure it if you want some more peace of mind, but the Department of Transportation requires boat transport companies to have insurance already, so that might not be necessary.
